World Liberty Fi, the cryptocurrency investment fund associated with former President Donald Trump, has made another unexpected move by acquiring BUILDon (B), a relatively obscure meme token. The fund framed the purchase as an endorsement of the project team, specifically praising their decision to use USD1 as a base trading pair.
This acquisition aligns with the fund’s history of speculative investments, including previous positions in Movement (MOVE) and ONDO Finance (ONDO) tokens that were later liquidated. The BUILDon purchase coincides with their ongoing accumulation of EOS (Vaulta), reinforcing their high-risk, high-reward investment strategy.
"Love seeing projects choose $USD1 as their base pair — faster settlement, deeper liquidity, and growing every day," the fund stated in a May 21 tweet. While the announcement has brought attention to BUILDon, it has also raised questions about World Liberty Fi’s overall investment approach.
